Genesis 1…..

What a beautiful chapter Genesis 1 is. When one reads it one thinks of when the world began, when the world was dark and empty and how our Almighty

 God, just by speaking the words, brought into being light, trees, flowers, animals, rivers and so much more. God then decided to create Adam and Eve. Out of Adam’s rib Eve was made to be his helpmate, to be protected by him, to be loved by him. She in her turn, as his wife, was to love and support him. They were to fulfill one another.

How wonderful it is to see Albert and Carina standing in front of the pulpit, listening to the words of Genesis 1 as read by Ds. Breytenbach. Coming to the realization that God created the world and also man and woman. For every Adam God created an Eve. He created them for each other. God has given  Carina to Albert so that they may support and love one another as God loves us.

As beautiful as the nature is outside so beautiful is God’s love for these two young people who have chosen to begin their lives together in the way that God expects us to. In Holy matrimony, in His Name and in His Church.

May the road that lies ahead for this couple lead away from the dry desert into a luxuriant and glorious paradise. May they continue to experience the joy of the Lord in their lives as they are experiencing it tonight.

Thanks to Ds Breytenbach’s exposition of Genesis 1 we no longer see this chapter just as the beginning of the world but also as the beginning of a life with the person whom God has chosen for you to share your life with.

 The ladies of the congregation prepared a feast! Everybody (young and old) enjoyed it very much.
