Preparations for the Women's Conference on 21 May

In October 2010 the women of Bethal were asked to host the annual Women's Conference on 21 May 2011. With great enthusiasm they decided to do as was asked. A lot of work was done and every woman in the congregation did her part to make the Conference of 2011 very special. On Friday the 20th everybody had to be at the church at 14h00 to help with the final preparations.

New Office Bearers Installed on 3 April 2011

It was a day in which the congregation could rejoice in the gifts the Lord has bestowed upon them. The Lord has given us faithful and able men to continue the ministry of the Word in the congregation. After the morning service in which the brothers answered the questions of the Form and gave their confirmation with the Confession, we had tea together.

Brother Neels du Preez has served  in the Office of Elder for eighteen years. He has been able to retire and brother Cloete du Plessis has been elected by the congregation and called by the Church Council to the Office of Elder. Brother Neels did the work with great commitment and with the other Office Bearers lead the congregation to persevere through difficult times.

Brother Eugene du Preez has also been able to retire after serving as a deacon for twelve years.  He has been replaced by brother Deon Postma. Eugene also served the congregation with commitment and enthusiasm.

As from 3 April 2011 the church council consists of Reverend Hannes Breytenbach, Elders Wimpie van der Westhuizen and Cloete du Plessis and Deacons Marius Bissett and Deon Postma. We would like our sister churches in Australia to keep praying for us that we will be able to serve the congregation with the Word of God  in humility and with wisdom..
